the public will have a face to face opportunity
to put questions to the Environment Agency
when it holds its board meeting in public
in Bristol city centre next week.
The Agency’s open board meeting takes place
on Wednesday, February 9 at Bristol City Council,
Council House, College Green, Bristol, BS1
5TR.
Environment Agency chairman Sir John Harman,
chief executive Barbara Young, board members
and directors will be available to talk to
the public at a pre-meeting question and answer
session from 9.45 am. The formal board meeting
begins at 10.30 am and anyone interested is
welcome to observe. The meeting will end no
later than 4 pm with a break for lunch at
1.45 pm.
Items on the agenda for the formal meeting
include the Agency’s key priorities until
2008, progress with protecting and improving
some of our key wildlife species and habitats
and an in-depth look at how environmental
regulation is reducing the impact of industry
on air quality.

The board of the Environment Agency meets
around six times a year at different locations
around England and Wales. Board meetings are
open to members of the public to observe.
Each meeting starts with an open session where
the public can put questions to the chairman,
Sir John Harman, and the chief executive Barbara
Young.
